Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez own expensive cars but never drive them

Ben Affleck, 50, drove an electric Ford Bronco and Rivian R1S EV a few days ago. As much as Affleck loves driving, his wife, JLo, would rather ride shotgun.

In the electric Rivian R1S, she did the same. Lopez and her mother and sister were seen shopping in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve. In a red and white outfit, the triple- star sat in the passenger seat of the Rivian while her sister, Lynda, drove.

Rivian makes the R1S and R1T, all-electric SUVs and pickup trucks. After driving the Gateway Bronco-electrified off-roader, Ben Affleck owns a Tesla Model S Plaid, suggesting he may be leaning electric.

Three trims with different power outputs and battery capacities were planned for the R1S, but only the Adventure package is available. The Quad-Motor AWD powertrain, which delivers 835 horsepower (847 ps) and 908 lb-ft (1,231 Nm) to all wheels, is the most powerful in the Adventure package.

With these specs, the electric SUV can reach 62 mph (100 kph) from naught in 3.1 seconds and 125 mph (201 kph).

Its 135 kWh battery pack gives it an EPA range of 314-316 miles (505-509 kilometers). The large battery pack adds $6,000 to the $78,000 all-electric SUV before options and taxes. The American electric car maker will add a 180 kWh Max battery pack.

Jennifer often drives in her luxury cars as a passenger because she dislikes driving. A Bentley Continental GTC, Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, and West Coast Customs Phantom are in her collection, but she rarely drives them. The “Let’s Get Loud” singer hadn’t driven in 20 years when her ex-fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, gave her a Porsche 911 GTS Cabrio. In Los Angeles, she didn’t seem interested in trying this powerful electric SUV.
