Mookie Betts, an outfielder for the Dodgers, did what any professional athlete would do after winning the World Series in 2020: he bought a new house for himself. The same Los Angeles mansion has now been listed for sale by the MLB star, but this time it includes bespoke features.
The nine-time All-Star is asking a hefty $9.9 mιllιon for his 9,415 square foot mansion in Encino. For context, Betts acquired the spread from UCLA coach Chip Kelly for an initial payment of $7.6 mιllιon. Although the property was only recently constructed in 2018, it has undergone a number of upscale modifications. Most notably, Betts built a gym and a light-blue indoor basketball court on which he inscribed the letters “MB.”
A detached, two-story guest house with two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a living room is also available on the property. The half-acre complex is also outfitted with a cabana, an outdoor kitchen, a sunken fire pit, and a zero-edge pool. Of course, you’ll have a whole putting green to yourself if you’d prefer to practice your golf swing.
The main mansion, which is at the center of the estate, has a whopping nine bedrooms and ten bathrooms. There are oak flooring throughout and soaring high ceilings inside. There is a beautiful, curved staircase with a skylight above in the double-height entryway. In close proximity, the chef’s kitchen has been fitted with top-of-the-line appliances, a roomy walk-in pantry, and gleaming quartz countertops. The living room also has its own fireplace.
You can choose between watching movies in the home cinema or taking a steam bath in the sauna for entertainment. The main suite is obviously a lovely hideaway from the rest of the house. Two enormous walk-in closets, two spa-like en suite bathrooms, a sitting area with a fireplace and its own TV, as well as a private balcony, are all features of the accommodation. While Betts’ future plans are unknown, his ten-year, $365 mιllιon deal with the Dodgers will keep him in the Los Angeles region.
