Rihanna hands over the mansion to Johnny Depp’s longtime tycoon

Despite a sluggish real estate market, Hollywood continues to see notable deals being made. Rihanna’s Tudor-style mansion, nestled in the mountains above Beverly Hills, has been purchased for an impressive $10.3 million by industry veteran Tracey Jacobs, who has represented Johnny Depp for much of his illustrious career.

It appears that this sale represents a financial loss for Rihanna, who had acquired the property only two years ago for precisely $10 million. Aside from the standard realtor fees and closing costs, the Fenty Beauty billionaire will also incur nearly $570,000 in taxes to the city of Los Angeles, owing to L.A.’s new mansion tax.

Sitting on a generous half-acre hillside lot, the 1930s Tudor-style estate has undergone recent updates. The 5,000-square-foot house features a bright and white interior, with a vaulted-ceilinged living room, a formal dining room opening onto a covered al fresco dining terrace, and an eat-in kitchen equipped with high-end appliances, all connected to a spacious family room. Upstairs, the bedrooms include a luxurious master retreat with a spa-style bathroom, fireplace, and a private balcony overlooking the backyard.

The property’s sprawling yard lives up to the “resort-style” description, boasting a brick patio encircling a swimming pool and poolside cabana, a fire-pit, lush gardens, and multiple patios for entertaining or relaxation. Additionally, a half-size basketball court can also be found on the premises.

An appealing aspect of this purchase is that Tracey Jacobs will be Rihanna’s next-door neighbor. Despite selling this property, the “We Found Love” singer retains ownership of the $14 million mansion immediately adjacent, which she acquired in 2020 from tech entrepreneur Daniel Starr. Rihanna also maintains two luxury penthouses at The Century condo skyscraper.

Tracey Jacobs, a seasoned talent agent and partner at “Big 4” firm UTA (United Talent Agency), had represented Johnny Depp for the majority of his career, spanning from the mid-1980s before his breakout in “21 Jump Street,” until 2016 when Depp parted ways with her. Financial issues were cited as the reason for his departure from Jacobs, UTA, and their agency fees. During their 30-year partnership, Depp amassed a fortune of approximately $650 million.

Despite her work with other high-profile clients such as Harrison Ford and Gwyneth Paltrow, Jacobs is best known for her association with Depp. In the past year, she made headlines for her appearance via videotaped deposition in the Depp v. Heard defamation trial. Currently residing in a Hollywood Hills estate she acquired over 20 years ago from Renee Zellweger, the 65-year-old talent agent continues to make her mark in the industry.
