This house in East Hampton, New York, which is currently on the market for $15M, is considered by many NBA fans to be sacred ground.
It is the well-known vacation home that NBA superstar Kevin Durant rented in 2016 for the sum of $100,000 for a period of ten days. The All-Star free agent spent his summer in the Hamptons listening to proposals from clubs that were interested in signing him while they were there.
According to the New York Times, his final decision to join the Golden State Warriors was “a seismic decision for the league.” He ultimately signed with them.
The quintet of Warriors, including Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Igoudala, who journeyed to this summer retreat in an effort to convince Kevin Durant to bring his talents to the San Francisco Bay Area are now commonly referred to as the “Hamptons 5.”
If you’re a big fan of the Warriors, buying this house could be like getting your hands on the Holy Grail of sports memorabilia. According to an article that was published in the San Francisco Chronicle in 2016, the question was posed, “Is it too early to declare the house Kevin Durant rented in the Hamptons last summer a National Historical Site?”
