“I went to Saudi Arabia for a show and after we landed in a private airport, I was denied entrance because they said I had jewelry worth over $25k or something like that,” Lil Wayne recounts how the Saudi me n made him feel like a pauper.
When I went back to my jet to try to leave since I didn’t understand what they were trying to say, a man entered and told me that his Excellency had heard what had happened and was furious, telling me to go straight through.
Everyone in the airport was silent and acting like statues when I was strolling through. He texted me after I got to my hotel room, saying he was upset about what had happened and wan ted to come apologize to me in person.
I responded there was no problem. As soon as he entered, he said, “Jewelry over $25k? “I have a gift for you that is worth over $25k,” he said, helping his friend unwrap a Franck Muller watch. That is far more valuable than $25k. He remarked as he was leaving the room,
“Oh, I forgot, Ferrari or Lamborghini?” I mistook that for a generic inquiry. I replied, “Lamborghini,” assuming he was inquiring as to which was superior. Next, he inquired, “What color?” “Black,” I said.
“In front of your house in three weeks,” he remarked. I apologize profusely for this. I continued to believe that he was making jokes. I mentioned, “I heard that Lamborghini trucks are new.” That was something I acquired two or three days ago!
